Cookies & Cream joins Optimum Nutrition's soft & fluffy Optimum Bar range!

Happy Monday, folks...or, given what i'm introducing here, perhaps I should say, Happy (Opti-)Monday! Either way, for those of you reading this and not transfixed by the Love Island final, hope you had an awesome weekend!

It's true it's been a bit of a slower month for the industry and tasty, exciting new protein snacks and supps have been few and far between but...we've got a few somewhat tantalising treats lined-up for you this week, starting with... Optimum Nutrition's latest Optimum Bar! Yep, always a safe choice, check-out...Cookies & Cream!!

First? Just a bit of background, as we've been a little remiss not properly 'insta-ducing' (yep, just invented that term! Keeping it!) Optimum Nutrition's new (albeit not very imaginatively named) 'Optimum Bars'.

Launched with 3 flavours a couple of months back - Choc Caramel, Peanut Butter and, our unexpected fruity fave, Rocky Road (trust us!) - these bars are truly unique., and Optimum, to be fair, have pulled off something pretty exceptional.

How so? Their macros? Not really. Circa 220kcals, no added sugar, 20g protein (awesome but nothing to write home about). Their ingredients? Not really (although real Belgian choc and veggie-friendly...that's pretty cool!). Their flavours? Peanut Butter...even new Cookies & Cream? Been done. Nope...it's their TEXTURE. Or, mad though it sounds, the lack thereof!!

Haha...what am I talking about? Well, these satisfyingly sweet snacks are the counter-punch to Optimum's CRISP bars and are...INCREDIBLY SOFT! Fluffy, even! *Really*. From the inside-out, we've never had a bar here pull-off you can literally pull-apart, once and for all bucking that old-fashioned 'chewy' protein bar stereotype! Kudos, Optimum!!

And, yeah, we find this stupidly soft centre & delicate dark choc coating (with a hint of crispy crunch!) goes especially well with the Rocky Road!! ;-)

Haha...and, of course, new Cookies & Cream is a lovely, lovely thing, too! Creamy? Not so much, but caramel-sweet and, new trick in this one, comes with real, crunchy almond pieces!!
