Eat cake, get smart?! PhD bake up scrumptious sponge cake style protein snacks!

PhD have earned some serious kudos with their cute Smart range and they might just be about to take a further 'slice' out of the competition with their first snack launch of 2020

The ever-growing range of 'Smart' snacks and supps - from flapjacks and shakes through to, of course, the popular, long-running Smart Bars and their pleasantly surprising vegan-friendly spinoff 'Plant' range - covers many bases and we weren't too sure what we were going to see next from them. As they don't yet have 'Smart Cookies', though? We figured they would be a pretty safe bet. Nooope! To our delight, they've started STRONG (and spongy!) in 2020 with...SMART CAKE!!

These may LOOK a bit like cookies (albeit sexy, coated ones) but beneath their exciting-enough exterior (complete with sprinkles and more!) and with their creamy, jammy filling...they're anything but!!⁠

Are they cakes? Are they cookies?! Neither!! And BOTH!! SMAAAART, PHD!!!⁠

As if a protein cookie-cake wasn't already enticing enough, PhD have launched the range with no less than *four* scrumptious flavours...⁠

Birthday Cake - Giant cake cookie dunked in a sweet, white chocolate coating with a fruity filling and topped off with crunchy, confetti style sprinkles! ⁠

Jaffa Cake - Dark chocolate coated giant Jaffa Cake bake with a gooey orange centre!⁠

⁠Carrot Cake - Soft, spiced cakey centre with a layer of sweet cream cheese and a white choc frosting (complete with - TOTALLY unique here - real dried carrot chunks!!!).

⁠Salted Caramel - Sweet, salted caramel dessert that gave the team some rich coffee vibes⁠

⁠Between the unique textures and bold flavours, what else makes these so 'smart?'

⁠The nutritionals! Each cake is pretty much on par with most other protein snacks; with 15g protein, less than 2g sugar and just over 200kcals...dammmmn, this cake really does have a PhD in #gainz!!
